1  What is Pass Plus

  • After passing their practical driving test Pass Plus is at least six hours practical training course. 

  • It has 6 modules course each module is a minimum of 1 hour and covers a variety of situations. 

  • All Pass Plus modules should be practical sessions, although local conditions may mean some are theory based. 

  • You’ll normally spend at least 5.5 hours practicing driving and last 30 minutes filling out forms.

  • It could be longer, if your instructor decided you need the extra training in any module

  • It can be taken at any time within the year after passing their practical test.

2  Benefit of Pass Plus 
  • Pass Plus helps drivers to improve their driving skills and confidence for life, safely dealing with any scenario during driving.

  • It may help you get a car insurance discount after you successfully complete the Pass Plus course.

  • Check with insurers that you can still get a discount if you passed your practical driving test more than a year ago.

  • The amount of discount depends on the insurance company. Not all insurers offer Pass Plus discounts.

  • You might be able to put the discount on hold for up to 2 years if you do not have a car at the moment - check with the insurance company first.

  • You should  receive your Pass Plus certificate within 28 days, which you use for car insurance discounts.

3  Who can Teach Pass Plus

  • You’ll need a Pass Plus registered approved driving instructor (ADI) to teach you.

  • We are register for Pass Plus.


4  Pass Plus Test

  • For Pass Plus you don't have to take a test, but you’ll be assessed throughout the course and at the end of each session your instructor will mark on your progress form and hand it over to you. You must bring progress form with you in every session.

  • To pass you’ll have to reach the required standard in all modules.

  • And after successfully completing your course your instructor will fill up your Training Report form and send it to DSA. You should receive your Pass Plus certificate within 28 days after they receive the form.


4  Pass Plus Cost

  • Our Pass Plus course cost is £280.00. It could be more if you exceed more than 6 hours it will be £40 for every extra hour you take.


5  Offering Discounts

  • Some local councils can offer discounts off the full Pass Plus training costs.

  • Contact your borough, town, city or county council if they are listed to see if they can help you with the cost of your training.

  • You must live in the same council’s area to be eligible for the discount.
